Keva loves getting to know people and helping them grow closer in their relationship with the Lord. She has a passion for preaching and has been very involved in discipleship, evangelism, and membership care. She has a heart for missions both locally and worldwide and has traveled extensively serving the Lord.
Blessed with wonderful Christian parents, she grew up in Winters, Texas (a small town near Abilene). She graduated from Texas A&M University and Southern Methodist University with engineering degrees and worked in the telecommunications area.
Though she had a wonderful career, in 2001 she knew without a doubt that God was calling her into fulltime ministry. She left the business world and entered seminary at Perkins School of Theology at SMU. While there she was president of the student body and graduated top of her class. During her time in seminary she also worked as an Associate Pastor at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas.
Following her graduation from seminary in 2005, she became a minister in the British Methodist Church for four years where she served in a circuit in South Yorkshire, as well as traveled around the U.K. preaching and sharing her faith.
In 2009, Keva returned to the United States and was appointed to First Church Carrollton as an Associate Pastor. She had the pleasure of serving there for four years.
While in England, Keva worked on a doctorate in preaching at Durham University. When she returned to Texas she began a Doctorate of Ministry degree at Perkins School of Theology where her focus was on evangelism. She graduated with honors in May of 2013.
Later that year, Keva was blessed with an appointment to serve as an Associate Pastor at First Frisco. Since 2014 she has been serving as Senior Pastor at Henrietta UMC. She has had a blast running around Henrietta (literally) and getting to know everyone in the community and making the church more visible to those in Clay County.
Keva has two wonderful children: LeeRand, who is in technical business development and lives in Houston, and Kevin who is a firefighter in Richardson and lives in Arlington with his wife, Liz, and their three children: five year-old son, London; three year-old daughter, Rain; and one-year old son, Boston. Besides adoring her grandchildren, Keva is an avid runner, and enjoys golfing, skiing (water and snow), biking, hiking, traveling, writing, movies, and a really good book.
Keva feels so very blessed by the amazing people God has placed in her life and all of the incredible opportunities she has had. But the absolute most important thing to Keva is her relationship with the Lord and the opportunity to experience Him in daily life and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with others.
