Bridges Safehouse is currently having a drive to collect 2000 diapers and baby wipes. Someone has generously donated the diapers and we have been asked to be a collection point for the wipes. If you would like to help with this mission – please drop off baby wipes at the church office or bring to church. There will be a bin in the narthex and also outside the church office. Also JW has put an announcement for this on Facebook – please click on share to get the word out to the community. We want to make this a community-wide effort. If you are not going out to the stores, but would like to donate – please contact me or Nancy at the office and I will be glad to purchase them for you. This will only be during the month of October – last day Bridges will pick up will be October 31.
I want to talk about one other need for a ministry at our church. Our Children’s Enrichment Program (CEP) is really struggling financially during this pandemic. We have less children than we normally do. We have a lot of confidence in our program and would like to see it continue. Cherrill Foster, our director, is doing an amazing job. Normally it is self-sufficient and tuition supports the program, but these are not normal times. So if you would like to help, your donation would be greatly appreciated. Also if you know of anyone that needs childcare or a place for safe virtual learning, please contact the church.
