From My Heart

ChurchPastor's Blog

At a recent Chamber networking luncheon I introduced myself by name and as the pastor of our church. I told them that we’re about “making disciples who make a difference,” briefly describing our Green Project award, hosting the primary vote, Wesley Academy beginnings, and the 16 or so from our church who helped break the Guinness Book of World Records at the Dallas Convention Center for making the most sandwiches for the homeless at one time. They grinned and nodded as I spoke. But when I got to the “for the homeless” part people started clapping—right there in our local Saltgrass Steak House.

Other Christians love it when the Lord’s people make a difference. The world loves it when people make a difference, Christian or not. Making a difference is good evangelism. Though not complete without something about Jesus or faith or church or the Bible, making a difference in people’s lives (both now and forever) is Christianity… when it’s done in response to the unfathomable love of God in Christ our Lord! Thank you, church. I love leading/serving you.

From My Heart,
