From My Heart

One of the Christmas gifts I was excited to give this year was coffee. Not just any coffee. I gave both my girls fresh roasted gourmet coffee beans from other continents. That alone is somewhat of a modern miracle. But these beans, though not magic, are even more special. They were roasted in mid-December, right here in Cedar Hill. What’s more, all of the profit goes to church-sponsored missions: orphanages, water wells, schools, etc.

His name is John Hunter. His side business is Purpose Coffee. He was a pastor for ten years in Dalhart, Texas. He and his wife, Alysa, have moved their young family to our town, bought a flooring store, and launched this coffee mission. We met at a Chamber of Commerce lunch event and I was hooked. Coffee…with a Christian purpose…that I can choose.

Don’t be surprised if you don’t start hearing more about Purpose Coffee at church, and seeing it offered. It’s yet another win/win scenario. It’s a simple but profound way to support local business while equipping the work of mission in Jesus’ name. Merry Happy Hope.
