“Peach-Off” at XYZ

XYZ

Enjoy making desserts? Love juicy summer peaches? Ever heard of (or better yet, tasted/enjoyed) the famed peaches from Ham Orchards in Terrell, Texas? Well now, they have just over 100 acres with 10,000 peach trees with the sweetest sun-baked Texas peaches around! What’s the state of Georgia got on us? Really now. Mmmmmm, mmm. On Thursday, June 22, we’ll host our church’s first ever Peach-Off at the XYZ potluck luncheon at 11:45am in the gym. Charlie Byrd is already a contender with his special peach cobbler recipe.
The contest is simple: 1) for fair play all contestants must use Ham’s fresh peaches—which the church will provide for free,
2) BEGINNING JUNE 1, just put your order in for how many you will need by bulletin blue sheet or church office,
3) peaches may be picked up Father’s Day Sunday morning 06/18 or afterward,
4) bring your dessert along with its name and your name to XYZ that Thursday.
The winner will be decided and awarded by a panel of “expert” judges… and everyone else gets to savor the fruit of your labors [pun intended, hah]. We invite you to join in the delicious fun with us!
